Erving Poole
Erving is a man who wears many hats. He’s a musician, singer, songwriter, actor and the list goes on. He started in music at a really young age and used it to cope with everyday life experiences, struggles, etc. He later developed a passion to help young people and became a leader to thousands. After the death of this two nephews, Erving went to what he knew best to help him cope with the pain, his music. He saw the pain of his sister and that is what inspired him to write the song, A Mother's Tears.
Erving became even more passionate to help the youth and he started his indie record label, King Poole Music Group to help give talented youth an alternative to being in streets.
Throughout Erving's career he's collaborated with many people musically, completed several albums, and starred in a movie, "Great Gain"
Although for years after writing the song, Poole knew his mission was greater but didn’t identify it nor had any direction on how to move forward. But what he did know for a long time and kept in his heart was that his purpose was not to stop at the song. Finally, in 2016, Poole along with his sister, the mother of one of his nephews, formed the organization, A Mother’s Tears, LLC.
About the Vice President:
Debra Davis
Debra’s inspiration and journey to reach out to mothers like herself derived from the loss of her first born. Kinley was 19 when he was murdered. He was gunned down by seven gunshots. Debra is a mother of 3 other children who are all grown-up and 6 grand-children. Not only did she lose her son on that cold winter day in February, she also lost her nephew. Santino was 20 and his mom’s first born as well, and Debra’s brother’s second oldest child. Her journey in dealing with her loss has taught her that one can survive such trauma. Although it was a long and challenging process, she survived all adversities and never lost hope of leaving a legacy in remembrance of the brutality inflicted on her beloved son and her family.. Her survival also enlightened her of one of her important purposes; to be a voice for all mothers suffering from the loss of a child and an advocate for non-violence. Her desire is that “A Mother’s Tears” will be “that” platform which inspires and bring together mothers in a way like never seen before.
